Partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
We’re starting off the second part of eclipse season with a partial lunar eclipse in Pisces at 25°41’. With the Moon conjoint Neptune, sextile Uranus in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn, you can expect this partial eclipse to shatter certain illusions you’re still holding onto. What’s worked or seemed desirable in the past will be getting a dose of reality, and it’ll be giving you the opportunity to course-correct. I think the Mercury-Saturn opposition happening on the Virgo-Pisces axis along with the eclipse is also worth noting, as Saturn is imposing his rigid structure onto versatile and unbound Mercury. This might be an uncomfortable energy to engage with, but it will ultimately be the sobering-up you’ll need to make the right decisions for yourself moving forward.
The eclipse will be happening in the Pisces III decan, which also happens to be the last decan of the zodiac. Though the tarot illustrates this decan through the 10 of Cups — a rather “happily ever after” card — this decan is a lot more complex than that. With Mars ruling over Pisces III, we can assume that there’s something more animalistic in nature when we come into contact with this decan. Austin Coppock names this decan “A Bowl of Blood,” and talks about this decan illustrating meaningful sacrifice. T.S. Chang highlights the fact that this decan and its respective tarot card speak on the cyclical nature of our lives as humans, and what we’re willing to sacrifice in order to get to the “end goal.” With all of this in mind, it’s safe to assume that the partial lunar eclipse in Pisces III begs the question: are you really willing to fight for this? And to what extent? Just because we would risk it all for a person, idea or thing, doesn’t mean that it’ll work out or that the feeling is mutual. It’s always good to reflect on the bigger picture before diving in head first.
Leading up to and following our eclipse, we’ll come to find that some things are worth going all the way for, and others simply are not. We’ll start to realize that the value of what we have can sometimes be muddled by the illusions we choose to feed ourselves with, and that ultimately, we get to choose when we want to see the truth for what it is. Only then, will we find the clear path to what we’re truly after.
Expect to receive revelations this eclipse season that might throw you into a contemplative state; we are dealing with a lot of Piscean energy after all! I personally advise taking it easy at this time, and to not jump to action/conclusions impulsively. With the eclipse being in a water sign, it’s easy to act based on current emotions, and that might not be the most productive option at this time. What’s unfolding for us right now is crucial to process and understand before moving forward, as some illusions that are shattering have been sticking around for quite some time. Try to meditate and engage in relaxing activities if you’re needing comfort and security at this time, maybe even pull a few cards for yourself if you’re up for it. Now’s the time to take it all in!
The partial eclipse will be occuring at 04:43 (CEST) or 22:34 (EST).
